So you iphone is on 3.1.3 with latest based band / Modem firmware 05.12.01, and you are not able to unlock and jailbreak you iPhone. Well not to worry i am here to help you out. Just follow htese simple steps and you should be a happy iPhone user:

1.  Download the 3.1.2 firmware from here – http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-7265.20091008.Xsd32/iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw
2. Download latest version of redsn0w 0.9.4 (google is your friend)
3. Start redsn0w
4. When redsn0w ask you to point to the current firmware file, point to the 3.1.2 version
5. Follow the on-screen instructions from redsn0w
6. YOu are now jailbroken
7. Restart iphone
8. Open applicaiton “Cydia”
9. Search for “Fuzzyband” and then install
10. Start “Fuzzyband” app
11. Touch on “Downgrade” button to downgrade your Baseband from 05.12.01 to 04.26.08
12. Restart iphone
13. Open applicaiton “Cydia”
14. Touch on “Manage” tab on the bottom and touch on “Sources”
15. Touch on “Edit” and then on “Add”.
16. You will be prompted to enter a url source – type “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com”
17. Touch on “Add Source”.
18. Cydia will now automatically update your sources
19. Search for “ultrasn0w” in Cydia and install this application
20. Restart your iPhone

Now you have a jailbroken and unlocked on the latest 3.1.3 iPhone firmware
